
Kenny Lenehan started his musical journey back in 2001 while in 1st year at high school having shown a natural ability for music for his 12th birthday he received his first Bass guitar. A young “Mosher” and “Skater” his earliest influences where KORN,SLIPKNOT, LIMP BIZKIT AND KERRANG TV. Fast forward to 2004 and young Kenny is proficient on both Bass and Guitar and is taken by storm by the influence of Metallica and many classic bands leading to what Kenny calls “The Best Day of My Life” that being seeing Metallica headline “Download Scotland” in June 2004 of which Kenny has stated that was the moment he knew that he wanted to be a professional musician almost an enigma moment. In 2005 Kenny was set for his first musical performance “JIMI HENDRIX 35TH CEBERATION CONCERT QUEEN ELZABETH HALL LONDON” which saw the 15 year old rehearsing in hackney monthly until the gig in June 2005.
Kenny Left school in late 2005 to study Music at the time coveted Music Performance with Promotion at North Glasgow College from 2006 till 2009. This also had an impact on the young musician gaining priceless knowledge and experience in Mi while many others his age were still at school. Kenny describes this era as pivotal and kickstarted his music career further at the tender age of 18.
2008 saw what Kenny calls his first tenure in MI outside of education playing various bands and projects until 2020 . during lockdown Kenny formed “XAAR” a Dark Metal project influenced by Industrial Metal, Sludge and Hard Hitting themes.
XAAR has been featured in Herald Scotland “Best Scottish Songs Of 2022” and “AMAZONS HOT NEW METAL AND ROCK CHART”
“RIVER OF BONES” WAS A NOMINEE AND FINALIST IN BRIDGE AUDIOS FILM SYNC AWARDS 2025. XAAR “RIVER OF BONES” WAS SYNCED TO A SCENE FROM THE ACLAIMED FILM “TITANE”.
