Moldavian metal outfit “Infected Rain” featuring model/front woman “Lena Siccorhands” have grown from humble beginnings after forming in 2008 in Chisinau Moldova. I first heard Infected Rain a while back with the track “Sweet Sweet Lies” leaving a lasting impression on me!
While Moldova has not really been on the map of extreme music until a few years ago, that has now changed thanks to Infected Rain : after a series of compelling releases and performances on the biggest festival stages, the unpredictable fiver is now making a big leap with endorphin ! The harbinger ‘The Earth Mantra’ bares its teeth impressively with intricate time-signature, only to then urgently whispered to demand a better future for this world. The wild, hypnotic ‘lure’ is another prime example of Lena’s overblown vocals, deadly groovy riffs, and flickering psychotic interludes. Infected Rain is not the future – they are the future!
“Infected Rain” are set to release “Endorphin” on 18/10/2019 via “Napalm Records” check out my thoughts below.
Opening “Endorphin” is “Earth Mantra” which impresses me instantly with its grinding guitar riff that leads to “Lena Siccorhands” entering with the lyrics “Hear this prayer, hear this mantra! No mercy for the fire starter!”. Some great nu metal sounding riffs at times and a great chilled vibe during the breakdown. A great driving track maybe? In love with “Lena Siccorhand’s” clean vocals with the fry style vocal equally impressive, leaving a lasting impression. With some interesting time signature changes making for a great track. Also being the first single from “Endorphin” a music video was realised for the single you can checkout the Official Video for “Earth Mantra” below.
“Lure” also a single from “Endorphin” which I heard previously having been released a music video. Its lyrics are interesting and relatable at times. My favourite lyric being “There are too many hands in the cookie jar, you used all the gimmicks all the lies!”.

Production on “Endorphin” Is great even sounding full on phone speakers but best enjoyed through my studio monitors. Great low end that’s not muddy.
“Walking Dead” has a great mellow and ambient intro that leads to the sudden impact of the full band entering upon the verse. Possibly my favourite track on “Endorphin” interesting lyric choices and theme.
Other knock out tracks include “Storm”, “Pendulum” and “Passerby”.
I must admit I truly feel won over by “Infected Rain” as they are fresh sounding with different elements of sound and vibes proving there is more to bands the world over not just the UK and America. I feel I want to know more about “Infected Rain” as they really do have something different to offer.
I really wouldn’t mind catching “Infected Rain” live on the Glasgow date of the euro tour opening for “Lacuna Coil”. I highly suggest you check out a live show on the tour at venue near you with tickets selling out fast!
